🔧 Multi-Stage Starting
🚛 Air Brake System (Trucks)
⚙️ Features
Tired of starting engines with a single key press? This script mod transforms the ignition into an authentic sequence, just like a real diesel engine.
🔧 Multi-Stage Starting
- Short press on the ignition key: ignition ON – the dashboard lights up.
- Glow plug preheating with a HUD indicator next to the speedometer, changing color as it heats up.
- Preheating time depends on temperature: up to 25 seconds in deep winter, nearly instant with a warm engine or in summer.
- Hold the key to crank the engine. Cranking before the glow plugs are ready may cause the engine to cough, fail to start, and take minor damage.
- After a cold start, the engine idles for a few seconds before responding to the throttle.
🚛 Air Brake System (Trucks)
- HUD gauge displays the tank pressure.
- The compressor builds up air while the engine is running (timings calibrated to real truck data).
- Pressure leaks when parked – leave the truck sitting and you'll need to refill the air before driving off.
- Realistic air brakes: when pressure drops, the spring brakes engage and lock the truck – just like in real life, you won't lose your brakes, you'll just be stuck!
- Audible warning buzzer at low pressure.
⚙️ Features
- Keyboard and gamepad compatible – uses the vanilla engine key.
- Multiplayer and dedicated server support.
- Sounds: low-pressure buzzer, failed start cough, air venting.
- In-game configurable via console (command "rdsConfig"): toggle damage, air system, and adjust timings.
- Repositionable HUD (command "rdsHudPos").
- Translated into English, German, and Spanish.
- AI workers are not affected.
